PETER HIBBERT`S 1967 FORD XL GALAXIE 2 DOOR HARDTOP IMPORTED FROM TASMANIA APRIL 2022.

For many years, Mason & I have been searching at various sources for a 1960`s Ford Galaxie Hardtop not finding one that satisfied our high standard.

A contact was made via a friend that a 1967 XL Galaxie Hardtop model was for sale from a Tasmanian based classic car collector. Many texts, e-mails, photos & phone calls later, it was purchased & delivered to our home by the vendor at his cost. A couple of items that needed attention & I agreed to cover those needs.

Included in the sale were copious original documents, most USA registration certificates, ownership history & an original owners glovebox instruction booklet & provenance that I consider vital history that stays with this Ford including a Marti report dated 2007 that stated it was a special build for a FoMoCo executive & is one of only 22 built with paint code, the parchment luxury vinyl bucket seats & interior trim, Engine is a 428 Cu” 7 litre V8, coupled with a C-6 automatic transmission, 2.80 ratio 9-3/8” LSD locking differential, power steering, power disc brakes, power front seat & steering & an AM/8-track stereo radio included to the luxury package.

Further that I had contact with an earlier owner in USA that had fully restored it in 2005 & offered so much information & sent over a few redundant parts.

Upon inspection at arrival, I was not disappointed & went about addressing the needs that included a non-functioning air conditioning system & few RWC items.

On 26/05/2022 it was issued a RWC with all items addressed & remedied. Later the other minor items were fixed to make it a comfortable driving Ford.

Our family is enjoying the ride comfort & spacious appointments.
